Grace Dorothy Olson, 92, of Oelwein, formerly of Volga, died Thursday, December 10, 2009, at the Oelwein Care Center. She was born July 12, 1917 in rural Strawberry Point, Iowa, to Augustus and Ada (Hines) Dillon.

She was united in marriage to Selmer Olson on January 23, 1939, in Strawberry Point. When able, Grace was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic church in Volga. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and her family.

Survivors include her sons, Pat (Diane) Olson of Cedar Falls, John (Cherryl) Olson of Elgin and Joe (Carolyn) Olson of Oelwein; a daughter, Beth (Larry) Lund of Cedar Rapids; seventeen grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Olson of Forest City, IA and a brother-in-law, Tom (Barb) Olson of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on December 15, 1989; two children in infancy and nine brothers and sisters.
