Darla was born December 25, 1940 at Elkader, Iowa to Frank and Melvina (Klink) Roeder. She was raised and educated in the area graduating fro the Elkader High School.
Darla was united in marriage to Ronald Fishler on July 15, 1959 at Elkader, Iowa. Two children were born to this union. Darla and Ronald resided in Lancaster, Wisconsin for eight years. They then moved to a farm in the Wood Center area. In 1974 they moved into Edgewood. Darla was a cook in several restaurants in the area until retiring in 2002.
Darla died Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. She was sixty-nine years of age. Darla will be remembered as one who loved spending time with her family, and was an excellent cook.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald of Edgewood; one daughter, Lori (Terry ) Gearhart of Edgewood; one son, Lonny (Elizabeth) Fishler of Delaware; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters in law, Marian Roeder of Strawberry Point, John (Camilla ) Fishler of Lancaster, Wisconsin, Joan (Robert) Bruckner of Eastman, Wisconsin, Pat Rogers of Sugar Grove, Illinois, Stanley (Grace) Fishler of Crandon, Wisconsin, Barbara (Richard) Kessler of Kenosha, Wisconsin, David (Debbie) Fishler of Bloomington, Wisconsin, and Deb Johnson of Eastman, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.
Darla was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clark and Clyde Roeder; and a niece Marla Roeder.
